Resources for Ministries of Deliverance

Resources for Ministries of Deliverance

Books on Deliverance:

From 30 years of involvement in deliverance ministries, here’s what I’d recommend for your library.

1. They Shall Expel Demons by Derek Prince—one of the clearest expositions of this subject by a world renowned bible teacher who has done it and taught it for over fifty years. Practical and full of great illustrations. Everything by Derek is of the highest biblical quality and it is tested by decades of ministry.

2. Victory Over the Darkness and The Bondage Breaker and Setting Your Church Free by Neil Anderson—Groundbreaking books! One of the first major evangelicals to write about the reality of deliverance for Christians. These first two books are best sellers. Chuck Swindoll and Bill Bright recommend them. The first describes our identity in Christ—the key to victory over demons. The second is a handbook on how to set people free from demons. The third shows church leaders how to break spiritual bondages in churches. Very helpful!

3. Listen to Me, Satan by Carlos Annacondia—a rather brash title, except that the author has personally won over two million people to the Lord in Latin America through his crusades—much of it involved with forceful, systematic confrontations with demonic powers. The stories will stretch most of us, but multitudes of people have received salvation and deliverance under his ministry. I’ve met him: a humble, gifted man with a great passion for the lost and great authority over demons. His ministry has changed the spiritual landscape of Latin America.

4. How to Cast Out Demons by Doris Wagner---written by a 70 year old grandmother and wife of Dr. Peter Wagner. Doris has a very systematic, controlled approach to the deliverance process, complete with a very good spiritual inventory the person fills out before the ministry session. Even a sedate grandmother could use enjoy this book! Doris still does deliverance regularly allover the world!

5. Ridding Your Home of Spiritual Darkness—by Chuck Pierce and Rebecca Wagner Sytsema—very practical guide to cleansing homes from sources of evil, breaking generational curses and protecting children from spiritual darkness.

6. The Handbook on Spiritual Warfare by Ed Murphy—the most exhaustive textbook on spiritual warfare by an well-known evangelical. Very strong on biblical material.

7. The Believers Guide to Spiritual Warfare by Tom Whiteanother well known evangelical showing us how to deal with spiritual attacks, pray for deliverance and protect our families from evil spirits.

8. Deliverance From Evil Spirits by Michael Scanlana Catholic priest and university president teaches very effectively about the realities of demonic attacks and how to deal with them. Very compatible with Protestant views.

9. Pulling Down Strongholds by Dr. Hector Torres---this well known Latin leader writes broadly about spiritual warfare using many examples gathered from around the world due to his connections with the Spiritual Warfare Network headed by Peter Wagner. A practitioner, former pastor and author of several books for Latins.

10. Pigs in the Parlor by Frank and Ida Mae Hammond—this was written in 1973 and was way ahead of its time in the America Church. A standard on this subject. Things I couldn’t buy years ago now seem quite acceptable in this little book. The listing of demon groups is worth the price of the book.

11. Deliver Our children From the Evil One by Noel & Phy Gibson—offers preventative and therapeutic solutions for defending our kids from demonic attack.

12. Evicting Demonic Intruders by Noel & Phy Gibson—used by Doris Wagner for her main text when she teaches deliverance for graduate and undergraduate students. Very strong section on the dangers of Freemasonry and how to break the curses associated with it.

13. Defeating Dark Angels by Dr. Chuck Kraft—manual on personal deliverance by a well-known Fuller Seminary professor drawing on wide personal experience.

14. Restoring the Foundations by Chester & Betsy Kylstra—the best training manual I’ve seen for equipping people in deliverance ministry. Available through New Life Christian Fellowship ( 547-7777) or call 850-835-4060.

Training Resources

1. The Association of Vineyard Churches—They have some of the finest audio and video materials for training in deliverance. John Wimber’s early video series, Signs, Wonders and Church Growth is still one of the most valuable video series for teaching people about how to deal with the supernatural elements of Christianity, especially how to pray for the sick and cast out demons. This series was the most popular course taught at Fuller Seminary by anyone for several years He actually prays for people right on the videos as God heals them and expels demons—while John describes the process very calmly and insightfully. Very balanced. Those videos are in the Regent University Library!

2. Restoring the Foundations---The Kylstra’s have produced the best training model for deliverance ministry. You do not need all this rtaining to do deliverance but it is very good training. I have taken the training and it is outstanding: lot’s of supervision, biblical and gentle to the person being served. New Life Christian Fellowship has established a Healing House in Chesapeake where people can be certified as official practitioners of this model. Call 547-7777 or contact the Kylstra’s ministry office at:

Proclaiming His Word Ministries, P.O. Box 2339, Santa Rosa, FL. 23459 voice/fax—850-835-4060 or email to healinghouse@phw.org or on the web at www.phw.org
